I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;2
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.3
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;4

In accord with this command, we need to be in prayer very much for
those in authority as the opportunities for missionaries to enter
Europe may
soon become more restricted.We already have a tightening of regulations and practice here in
Ireland.
I heard on the radio this morning that among other things, the Lisbon
treaty will allow for the eventual development of a common immigration
policy for all of the EU (27 countries).This could greatly hinder or even close the door of Europe to missionaries.
Knowing the great needs of Europe, this would be a terrible setback.In Christ,

I am hoping that the UK will not be so much or so soon affected as
other nations due to certain political rights we have so far
maintained. However, it may not be too long before missionaries here
face similar difficulties.
