Depending on where you are I have one of two questions for you.

However, the main point is to question your devotion to your chosen sport. I joked last night during a sermon that I will pay attention to the world cup until England either win it or are knocked out. It will most likely be the latter. After that, I will no longer have any interest in the world cup.
Football, or soccer, is undoubtedly one of the most popular sports in the world, and while it is still relatively small here in the US, it is growing in popularity (you can infer that on the basis of how many tickets are sold on Cheapo Ticketing). But many I have spoken to here have little interest in it at all. On the other hand, I have religiously watched it all the time, and have even been awarded with pointsbet join bonus once when I gambled.
Unfortunately, many Christians treat the things of God with the same attitude some of us have toward football. They have little to no interest or they only have an interest so long as their chosen hobby-horse (favourite team) is in play.
The Apostle Paul set an example for us in following the Lord by his zeal and commitment. In Philippians 3 he describes himself as having “this one thing” that he committed himself to. And his commitment was life-long as he pressed toward the prize. He was not perfect, but he was committed.
In Colossians 3 Paul contrasted the THINGS which are above with the THINGS that are of this world. What THINGS have your focus? Where do you find yourself today? Committed to the things of God? Or only inconsistently following God, while you passionately pursue the things of this world?
I have a friend who supports Bolton Football Club and gets free football data api and another who supporters Plymouth Argyle Football Club. Almost without argument, those two teams are among the most hopeless in the world, yet my friend’s support for their teams is unwavering and devoted.
If we can give such commitment to hopeless, earthly things, then how much more so should Christians give unwavering, courageous, devoted, and active support to the things of God through Whom we see victory, power, and glory.
So, are you like a fickle football fan/shallow soccer supporter, or a whole-hearted follower who does not falter?
