Missions Conference 2011

Recently we held our missions conference at Brimpton Baptist Church. It was obviosuly the first we have held since returning here and we felt God blessed in a great way!

Our theme for this year is “Sowing the Seed” and we are emphasising that we need to sow the seed of the Gospel in our communities but also around the world.

Alan Campbell and Travis Snode travelled to be with us and preach our conference. They both did a fantastic job of presenting the case for personal and global evangelism. Unfortunately Travis had to leave the conference on the Friday after receiving some sad news from his wife. They had been expecting a baby sometime in August but for some reason the baby had miscarried. I thank God that within hours of receiving the news we were able to have Travis on a plane and on his way home to his family. They are doing well but I know appreciate your prayers.

Alan was happy to preach several extra messages and Stephen Silverson helped out on the Saturday by giving a short challenge on missions.

On Saturday the International Dinner went fantastically well and we had a variety of foods from all over the world.

I am excited that the church has got involved with Grace Giving as a means of supporting missionaries. I have benefitted as a missionary out of Brimpton in previous years and others have been blessed and helped also. Now as we move to a new way of supporting missions I pray it will only increase what the church has done before.
